Yu, Ingram, Paules and others collaborate on Open Forum Infectious Diseases article
Nyein Yu, MD, David Ingram, DO, Catharine Paules, MD, and several other co-authors across Penn State College of Medicine and Penn State Health recently collaborated on an article in Open Forum Infectious Diseases.
The published meta-analysis sought to identify the optimal corticosteroid treatment for hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Although more data from randomized controlled clinical trials are needed, the meta-analysis suggests that shorter durations of corticosteroids may optimize the mortality benefit in COVID-19.
Drs. Ingram and Paules are members of the Department of Medicine’s Division of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology.
Dr. Yu is a second-year fellow in the Division of Infectious Diseases Fellowship program.
