Residents from Hahnemann Accepted

Penn State College of Medicine’s Office of Graduate Medical Education accepted seven residents from Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. Hahnemann plans to close on Sept. 6. The residents come from internal medicine, neurology, cardiovascular disease, clinical cardiac electrophysiology and general surgery. 

Performance Appraisals due Aug. 31

Penn State Health managers have until Aug. 31 to complete performance appraisals in Pulse/Lawson myHR. Managers can access step-by-step instructions and resources for completing performance reviews by going to mySolutions and searching “Performance and Goals.”

Meister Named Presidential Management Fellow

Penn State College of Medicine graduate assistant Alissa Meister was selected as a 2019 Presidential Management Fellow. She will begin working for Dr. Douglas Sheeley, deputy director of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, this September. Meister is working toward her PhD in neuroscience and was one of 350 fellows selected from more than 4,000 applicants nationwide.

Becky Enjoys Game of Toss

A few members of the Harrisburg Senators minor league baseball team visited Penn State Health Children’s Hospital on Aug. 11 and played a different kind of catch with a four-legged fan. Facility dog Becky enjoyed an afternoon of ball toss, head rubs and face kisses with players Ian Sagdal and Nick Banks. See more photos.

Ice Cream Social for Fundraisers

An ice cream social to celebrate employee fundraising for Penn State Health Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network will be Thursday, Aug. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hershey Medical Center, T2500. RSVP to Elizabeth Wilson.
